Day 2 – St Bees to Ennerdale (15 miles)

We had a fairly early start at 8am, after a nice self service breakfast. We decided to meet the coast to coast route a bit further along to stop us from having to walk back along the same path from last night. The first few miles were pleasant, but uneventful, until we walked the big climb of the day, but the views from the top were worth it!Then we had a long, steep descent down a path covered in scree and rocks. Not pleasant, my legs were shaking by the time we got to the bottom. For the next few miles we walked through a lovely valley and down into the village of Ennerdale, where we stopped for a drink at a pub and a lie down on the grass outside. We then continued on to our accommodation for the night via the beauty of Ennerdale Water.Unfortunately, our bags didn’t make it to the YHA as we found out that Sherpa don’t deliver there, but hadn’t let us know!!! So we had an uncomfortable but amusing night wearing the same clothes and no toiletries πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.
