Day 6 – Patterdale to Shap – 16 miles

And then there were three!!!

We got up at 5am for another early start, but unfortunately, Dean still wasn’t feeling well and decided to forego the walking for a bus instead. Julie didn’t feel well either, but decided to continue.

So it was the three of us that left at 6.15am to do a long, hard walk of 16 miles with a big hill 😱.

We did have some amazing views and walking early in the morning is a lot easier.

On our final descent from the Lakeland tells, we had a difficult steep path on which I fell and sprained my ankle again. Luckily I could still walk. And after a 4 mile trek next to Haweswater Reservoir we finally reached flatter lands.

Hurrah!! It feels like the most difficult part is done with. I’m sure we will still have other obstacles or hills to overcome, but for now it feels like it’s going to be easier 😉.

By the time we got to the hotel, Dean joined us after his easy day 🤣🤣, and the rest of us were sore and weary.

But the best is yet to come, as we spotted a chippy in the village and I’m sure that will fix all of our woes 😁.
