Day 9 – Keld to Reeth- 12.8 miles (106.8)

Today we are the Famous Five 🀣.

This morning was quite a leisurely start again, as we only had about 13 miles to go and the route profile was fairly flat with only one big climb. And we were joined by Darren for the days walk.

We had breakfast in the barn and took some photos before setting off.

It started out with a leisurely stroll through Keld before taking a short, steep climb into the hills and turned into another leisurely stroll above the valley.

Unfortunately, we had only covered about 5 miles when my knee started to cramp up!! We had a break at 6 miles, where I treated it on the road in the hopes that it wouldn’t get any worse.

We then carried on, taking flat routes where possible, as my leg hurts worse when descending and when we reached Gunnerside we enjoyed coffee and cakes πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ.

After the break, the walking was again flat and the views lovely.

We arrived at Reeth, a very nice village, and had ice cream before finishing at Dales Bike Centre down the road, and yes, this place really does have accommodation and a cafe 🀩.

Here, Darren left us and went home. Thanks for the company and support Darren 😁.
